The ABPI has appointed Christine Rowland to the newly-created position of value and access manager for its commercial department.

Rowland joins the ABPI from Pfizer where she worked for the past 12 years in a variety of roles comprising sales, marketing, HTA and market access, and in areas including rare diseases and oncology.

Prior to this Rowland worked in the pharma industry for more than 17 years, and before that was employed by the NHS for a decade as a qualified nurse and midwife.

At the ABPI Rowland will be working on a range of projects to improve patient access to innovative medicines, in line with its HTA and market access objectives.

Rowland says: “I am delighted to join the ABPI at this time of great change in the landscape of the UK health system and the NHS. I look forward to working with colleagues both within the ABPI and externally to ensure that patients have access to the latest innovative medicines they require and working to ensure the full implementation of the new PPRS agreement."

ABPI director of value and access Paul Catchpole, adds: “There are an increasing number of commercial initiatives that the ABPI is leading on. Christine is a very welcome addition to the team”.
