Pfizer replaces UK managing director

Published on: 10/02/15

Erik Nordkamp has been named as the managing director of Pfizer UK to take over from Jonathan Emms.

Emms has just been promoted to the role of global marketing lead at the firm as he also relinquishes his presidency role at the ABPI to Amgen’s John Kearney.

Emms led Pfizer’s UK business for three years and over the past year also served as ABPI president. In both roles he has been at the forefront of discussions with government, the NHS and NICE on medicines and access.

He says: “I have thoroughly enjoyed leading the Pfizer UK business and it’s been a great privilege to serve as ABPI president this past year.”

Nordkamp (pictured) joined Pfizer in 2010 and for the past year has led Pfizer Greece, Cyprus & Malta and its ‘global innovative pharmaceutical business’.

Prior to this Nordkamp worked for Pfizer in the UK as head of strategy for primary care Europe and Canada. He also served as president of PhRMA Innovation, a trade association.

He says: “I am delighted to be returning to the UK, a key global hub for scientific innovation. I look forward to continuing conversations with government, the NHS and NICE to ensure the value of our industry is recognised.”
