French genome engineering company Cellectis has appointed Dr Sylvie Delassus senior vice president communications and a member of its executive committee.

Cellectis said the appointed reflected its commitment to developing an ambitious, strategically coherent corporate communications programme.

Sylvie Delassus spent 11 years as a researcher in virology and immunology at the Institut Pasteur in Paris and the Institute of Cancer Research in London.

She served as public relations director at the Institut Pasteur from 2000 to 2004 and then spent two years as head of communications for the R&D subsidiary of Aventis.

Following that Delassus worked at the French Agency for Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (Afsset) with a special focus on developing the scientific aspects of the agency’s communication and increasing its contribution to public debate.
