GlaxoSmithKline has appointed Adrian Hodges to head up corporate responsibility and community partnerships.

He moves to the pharma company after 12 years at the International Business Leaders Forum, where he was most recently manager director.

Commenting on his appointment he told the IBLF: “Under the leadership of CEO Andrew Witty, the company has publicly declared that it wants to build trust with stakeholders as it discharges its responsibilities.

“My role will be to build on the great work the current team have put in place and to support the company’s leadership in realising ambitious business objectives in line with a focused business strategy.”

During his tenure at the IBLF he also worked in communications, was in charge of US operations and worked on the ground in South America.

One of his first tasks when joining the IBLF was to help to bring to the attention of business leaders the case for HIV/Aids as a legitimate ‘business issue’.
