Porter Novelli has appointed Shipra Singh as head of healthcare for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

She was most recently head of strategic services for Hill & Knowlton and prior to this managing director of Bell Pottinger’s Health Group.

Porter Novelli said her appointment to the newly-created role of head of healthcare, EMEA was the result of new business wins and the growth of existing clients across the region.

Singh will coordinate the international delivery of these programmes and continue the agency’s expansion in pharmaceutical marketing, medical education and consumer health and well-being.

Commenting on the move, Singh said: “Porter Novelli has an exciting proposition in the healthcare market and an impressive leadership team which has delivered numerous compelling and award-winning programmes.

“Increasingly the first place consumers turn for health care advice is the internet and how brands capitalise on these trends whilst respecting industry regulation will be critical in the future.

“Porter Novelli’s understanding of digital marketing trends has earned it an unrivalled reputation in this space. I’m looking forward to being part of these developments in health.”

She will be based in the agency’s London office, reporting to Porter Novelli UK’s managing director Sally Ward.
