Virgo Health has appointed Rebecca Rhodes creative director, a new position formed to further enhance creativity across the consultancy’s expanding and increasingly diverse portfolio of health related accounts.

Rebecca joins the agency from Cohn & Wolfe, where she headed up the Consumer division having worked across a number of high profile campaigns, including the launch of Speedo’s LZR Racer Olympic technology for Beijing 2008.

With over 13 years experience of working with consumer brands Rebecca previously headed up Hill and Knowlton’s Youth & Consumer division and co-launched PiranhaKid a creative conflict agency.

Rebecca said: “I’m really excited about working in the healthcare sector. The highly regulated nature of the market presents an exciting challenge and I hope my consumer background will drive some fresh and creative ideas.”

Angie Wiles, joint chief executive, added: “We have seen real growth in the consumer healthcare side of the business and know Rebecca will optimise Virgo’s creativity across the board – from prescription and OTC PR through to medical education – adding real depth to our planning insights as well as our creative executions at a really exciting time in the healthcare marketplace.”

Rebecca will also work with consumer healthcare director Sian Boisseau to continue to build the Virgo Consumer Health division as well as building a Virgo Health Wellbeing client base.

Another new appointment at the agency is Katie Banks, who joins as senior account manager. She was previously at Ketchum and brings experience in oncology, virology, gynaecology and respiratory medicine.

Virgo has also made a number of promotions that see Meredith Guest move to director, Tim Geldard to associate director, Ondine Whittington to associate director, Emily Brooks to account director and Carly Ambrose to account manager.
