Lilly's ex-marketing chief joins Innovex

Richard Pilnik, Lilly's head of marketing is to join contract sales organisation Innovex to serve as its president.

Pilnik has 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, most recently as group vice president and chief marketing officer at Lilly.

Pilnik left the Indianopolis-based pharma company last year, and has been appointed by Innovex for his experience in pharmaceutical sales and marketing.

iX Group buys manufacturing audit company

iXGroup, owners of Medix UK, has acquired Rephine, the pharmaceutical audit and consultancy specialists.

Rephine was founded in 1998 and provides consultancy to the pharma industry and audits of pharmaceutical API suppliers and dosage form manufacturers. Rephine has developed the concept of third party audits of suppliers to the industry: "Pharmassess".

When I joined Celltech (now part of UCB) over 20 years ago it was difficult to attract candidates who valued security above all else from a large pharmaceutical company into a biotech.

There can be all sorts of reasons to work from home, from the usual, such as fitting work around the kids, to the unusual, such as needing to be near hospital while waiting for a transplant.

But as technology enables more and more jobs to be carried out anywhere, companies are finding that offering and encouraging remote working can benefit the organisation as well as the employee.
