Living with fibular hemimelia

Helena Baker, Vice President of Clinical Strategy at Medical Research Network and a trustee of the newly formed Rare Disease Nurse Network, was born with fibular hemimelia, a rare condition characterised by a congenital absence of the fibula bone, but went undiagnosed for almost half a century. FDA approves Gilead’s latest HIV treatment

Gilead (NASDAQ: GILD) has announced that the US Food and Drug Administration has approved their TAF-based HIV therapy, Descovy (emtricitabine, tenofovir alafenamide) and indicated the treatment in combination with other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults and paediatric patients aged 12 and over.
