The ABPI has confirmed that CEO Stephen Whitehead has left the organisation.
Speaking on behalf of the Board, John Kearney, ABPI President, told staff he wished “to thank Stephen for the very significant contribution he has made to the transformation and success of the ABPI.”
Kearney said himself and the Board would now begin a search for a new CEO, while thanking Acting CEO Alison Clough for her contribution this year.
Clough will remain as Acting CEO until a successor to Whitehead is appointed, although a spokesperson said it was too early to discuss potential candidates.
The ABPI said in an official statement: “On behalf of the ABPI Board, John Kearney, ABPI President, announces with regret, that Stephen Whitehead, CEO of the ABPI, has left the organisation.
“Both as President, and on behalf of the ABPI Board and staff, we want to thank Stephen for the very significant contribution he has made to the transformation and success of the ABPI. We wish Stephen the best for the future.”
