Japan’s biggest pharmaceutical firm Takeda has announced the completion of construction of its new global headquarters in the country’s capital of Tokyo, named inventively as “Takeda Global Headquarters”.

The completion of the development, which was conducted as part of the “Nihonbashi-honcho 2nd District Project”, was marked by a ceremony attended by Christophe Weber, President and CEO of Takeda.

The building is situated in the same district which Takeda has operated out of for over 100 years and will assume the functionality of the company’s current headquarters in the city, acting as its flagship base to lead Takeda’s operations in 70 countries across the world.

The building is 24 floors tall reaching 124 metres in height, with four basement floors and has been designed to “further enhance connectivity between individuals and across businesses, while encouraging creativity in work”. Floors 4 to 24 will feature office space, while the first basement to the second floor will feature facilities including a gym, conference rooms and restaurants, all open to the public.
