Amarin appoints Dr Chris Hewitt UK and Ireland Medical Director

Amarin has appointed Dr Chris Hewitt as UK and Ireland Medical Director. Hewitt is a UK-trained physician with many years of experience, working for the NHS in the field of Oncology.
In his new position, Hewitt is responsible for medical affairs, drug safety and regulatory compliance, with an emphasis on scientific communications and medical education. He leads the UK medical affairs team, and sits on Amarin’s EU Medical Leadership Team.
Hewitt has held senior roles in the medical affairs team of the multinational pharmaceutical company, AstraZeneca. During this time, he was in charge of their cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic divisions as Global Medical Affairs Leader and Senior Global Affairs Leader.
