Bayer has appointed Dr Olaf Stange to head up its new Southeast Asia regional office for Bayer Technology Services (BTS) in Singapore.

He was previously managing director of Bayer’s Ehrfeld Mikrotechnik BTS, a role that will now be filled by Dr Joachim Heck.

Heck began his professional career at Hoechst AG in Frankfurt, subsequently joining Aventis Research & Technologies, Axiva GmbH and most recently Resources Technologies Management GmbH based in Frankfurt.

Meanwhile, Stange has led BTS subsidiary Ehrfeld Mikrotechnik BTS since 2004, expanding it during that time into one of the world’s leading suppliers in the field of microprocess technology.

Bayer Technology Services offers chemical/pharmaceutical plant services, employing almost 2,600 people worldwide, with headquarters in Leverkusen, Germany and regional offices in Belgium, China, India, Mexico, Switzerland, the UAE and the US.

BTS managing director Achim Noack said: “Serving our customers locally is part of the growth strategy of BTS. The presence of the regional office in Singapore now enables us to also offer tailored solutions for our customers in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries in Southeast Asia.”

BTS plans to open additional branch offices later this year in Brazil and Russia.
