Wyeth’s Dr Graham Cook joins British Pharmacopoeia Commission
Dr Graham Cook, a senior director in the Global Quality and Compliance division of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, has joined the British Pharmacopoeia (BP) Commission.
The BP Commission is responsible for preparing new editions of the BP, the only comprehensive collection of standards for UK medicinal substances, and the BP (Veterinary) and keeping them up to date.
It also provides advice to the United Kingdom delegation to the European Pharmacopoeia Commission and devises British Approved Names.
The BP Commission has also appointed Dr Brian Matthews, who is currently a member of the BP Commission’s Expert Advisory Group on Pharmacy, the Panel of Experts on Microbiology and the Working Party on Excipients.
He previously held the position of senior director, EC registration at Alcon Laboratories.
The two new appointments were made with effect from 1 January 2010 and will run for a four-year term.
