Financial Reporting – it’s all a foreign language… literally!

Over the last two decades technology has allowed companies to greatly increase their global reach. Within the pharmaceutical sector it is worth noting that this does not just mean reach in terms of company influence around the world, but also the physical reach of opening offices. This leads to many great business opportunities, but also new problems; one being communication.

When the financial year comes to a close, companies find themselves with a lot of information to work through; not always in a language they understand. That is why it is important for companies to properly communicate with one voice and language. It is important therefore for companies to examine language services companies and make sure they are ISO 9001 and EN15038 qualified.

ISO 9001 is an internationally recognised Quality Management Standard for all types of organisations.  EN15038 is a quality standard for translation services. Though it is often felt that they add additional “red tape” to the translation service, they are essential to ensure that the correct quality levels are met – essential in an industry like Pharma!
