Health economics & modelling

Experts in developing spreadsheet models to all levels of complexity, Abacus team members teach modelling at MSc level. Our ethos is to ensure transparency of assumptions and ease-of-use, using clear input and output tables, visual basic to aid navigation and macros to run simulations. We develop global economic models assisting with early pricing decisions followed by local country adaptations for local market access & HTA.

Systematic literature review

Our multi-disciplinary team of systematic review analysts, statisticians and medical writers have extensive experience in the design, conduct and communication of systematic reviews and meta-analyses including Mixed Treatment Comparison (MTC).

Health technology assessment

Experience and success rates are indicative of the high standards of health technology assessment (HTA) services our clients expect. Abacus has conducted over 90 submissions to NICE, SMC, AWMSG and other HTA bodies around the world. We maintain a significantly higher than average approval rate (currently, 82%  across all UK submissions). This success is driven by our highly experienced in-house team of project managers, health economists, medical writers and systematic reviewers. Abacus can manage any aspect of your submission.

Market access services

Payer communication tools: Abacus develop sales-force friendly market access tools used by representatives to win local product funding and formulary inclusion.  These tools utilize functions unavailable in simple spreadsheet models, including tracking software to monitor how the model is being used, dynamic links to business cases/ formulary packs and a simple approach to managing multiple scenarios.
Abacus will also design web accessible versions of models.

Value dossiers: An evidence-based approach to your value messaging. Abacus can do the necessary payer research, economic modeling and literature reviews to develop an effective value proposition to support your product. Our team of in-house medical writers and health economists will produce a clear and transparent dossier to meet your needs. We also have a range of interactive solutions enabling a layered communication of the evidence supporting each value message.

HTA tracking: On request, Abacus monitors international HTA submissions and decisions for selected disease areas. Data tables and strategic reports/presentations are provided, which outline trends and critical HTA success factors for your product.
