World Courier (UK) Ltd

World Courier is the only truly global, dedicated courier for time and temperature-sensitive shipments. With over 40 years' experience in specialist handling of critical drug supplies and clinical specimens, over 140 offices and more than 3,000 trained staff worldwide, we have IATA-certified staff at every office, employing local staff to bring local knowledge to handling global shipments.
In addition to ISO 9001:2008 accreditation, we have achieved coveted GxP-compliant status worldwide with focus on GDP Quality Management.
We have recently acquired the pharma-transport interests of SMS Group Ltd, based in Hythe, Kent. Integration into the World Courier service offering enhances our capability to meet customers’ transportation requirements. It is known as World Courier Ground (Europe) Ltd.
We have proprietary software packages for micro-management of every single shipment.
World-STAR
Order entry, customer database and shipment visibility tool. Shipment details and real-time statuses are communicated to offices in our network via Net-STAR, our own secure and high speed intranet.
Op-STAR
Global operations database of import and export requirements by station. This includes information on airline handling and customs procedures. It also displays holiday information and events which may affect service.
Bio-STAR
Database of all clinical trials worldwide. Bio-STAR assists local offices in pre-study site contact and preparation and later in creating pickups. All details pertaining to the protocol are presented to ensure the shipments are handled properly. This is particularly useful when assisting less experienced sites and in preventing error.
Opti-VIEW
Document attachment and management facility linked to World-STAR. This allows shipment specific documentation to be scanned directly to the job. Accessing a signed HWB immediately or reviewing import paperwork in preparation of shipment arrival represent some of the benefits of this tool.
Airline Interface
MAWBs details are transmitted to the airlines electronically and statuses are returned automatically. This helps us monitor shipments and flag certain message types that the airline sends to alert us to any potential problems. The same interface enables us to transmit HWB information to the airlines for imports to the countries that require it. By sending the information electronically we save time, money and errors!
