IMS and Innovex announce UK alliance

Pharma data consultants IMS have announced a new alliance with contract sales provider Innovex to supply its field forces with access to cutting edge strategic data and analysis.

The tie-up will operate for an initial three years and the companies hope it will allow them to enhance services to their customers in the increasingly competitive fields of data consultancy and contract sales.

Sales operations account for around 75% of marketing budgets in pharmaceutical companies, and these are under increasing pressure to prove their return on investment. Meanwhile, IMS and Innovex are market leaders in their respective fields but are facing growing competition from companies offering a broad range of competing services.

The partner companies say the alliance will maximise the performance and efficiency of the Innovex sales and nurse teams and help IMS develop services tailored to the needs of pharma companies.

"The demand for more efficient and effective salesforce management solutions is increasing dramatically in the UK," said Simon Lilly, business line director, UK Sales Force Effectiveness.

"IMS' information, analysis and insights are helping our clients find the right answers and shape the most effective strategies. At the same time, customers are looking to increase their return on investment from contract sales organisations."

Lilly said IMS would benefit from the partnership by giving it a better understanding of the operational challenges salesforces face and help them develop improved information services for the industry.
