PharmaTelevision, an online TV channel dedicated to coverage of the pharmaceutical,
biotech and related industries is to launch a new premium subscription-based service.

The service available at www.pharmatelevision.com has been available for free since 2006, and is now launching a subscription service for premium content. The service offers insight, featured interviews with senior figures from the industry, panel discussions and company information.

The company claims to have a global audience of pharma industry viewers, and says 60% of them are 'C-suite' executives.

The new PTV Premium Content will centre around PTV News – a daily news and analysis service to be launched in August – and subscriptions will be free until 30 September 2009.

Dr Fintan Walton, chief executive of PharmaVentures – the company behind PharmaTelevision, said: "Television captures and delivers something unique, recognising that business is ultimately about the people in it – whether it's a part of deal making, or discovery and development, or about a company's ability to finance itself.

"It's not a surprise to us that PharmaTelevision has become 'must view' TV for many senior executives and managers."

He added: "[The] launch of this new service means we can deliver to our subscribers great television programming and integrated news and analysis information services."

As well as PTV News, current programmes include PharmaVentures Business Review; The Regional Report; The Financial Report; and PharmaDeals Commentaries.

In 2008, the channel launched a sleek new look and introduced two new TV programmes – the Financial Report and the Regional Report, which it says complement existing content to give users a complete overview of industry trends, analysis including deals, investments and strategic policies.

Subscribers to PharmaTelevision Premium Content can access over 200 high quality interviews and panel discussions filmed since June 2006. Dr Walton concluded: "It's an exciting time for us and our viewers."
